A two-seat carrier-based fighter, the de Havilland Sea Vixen was introduced in the late 1950s and served with the Royal Navy through the 1970s. Though the aircraft did not officially participate in any wars, it was involved in a number of Cold War-era conflicts in the Middle East and Africa. It was also the first British two-seat warbird to achieve supersonic speed.
