F-4J Phantom (1:72) 155532, "CAG BIRD", VF-33, USS Dwight D.Eisenhower by Air Commander
Item Number: AC1011
Introduced in the late 1960s with the U.S. Navy, the McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II has been an incredibly versatile and effective aircraft for numerous national militaries around the world. The multipurpose fighter saw extensive combat duty with many different units, including Squadron 33, or VF-33. Transitioning from the F11F Tiger and the F9F-Cougar, VF-33 began using the F-4 Phantom II in 1964, and would fly the Phantom for the next seventeen years. A very special version of the F-4J Phantom, the "CAG Bird" was a uniquely painted aircraft, specially flown by the commanding officer of the United States Navy Carrier Air Groups. Thanks to its uncommon markings, it has become a favorite among collectors.
This limited edition, 1/72 scale, die cast replica of the warbird includes an amazing attention to detail and features the rare "CAG Bird" paint scheme as seen with the VF-33, an opening canopy, a well-equipped cockpit with hand-painted crew figures, optional-position landing gear, and so much more!
