Brewster Buffalo Model 339-23 No. 25 Squadron, RAAF, Sgt. John Bailey, West Australia 1942 (1:48) by Hobby Master Airplanes Item Number: HA7008Brewster, a company with absolutely no prior experience building fighters, produced the F2A-2. Management promised more then the plane could deliver and it was over sold worldwide and production fell extremely far behind. Finally the U.S. Government stepped in and took control of the company and production. The first mono-winged fighter for the Navy the F2A-2 was underpowered and plagued by landing gear problems that never did meet the specifications agree to by Brewster. It seemed this little plane always came up short in the performance department.
