By establishing his �Forward Interception Plan� Air Marshall Keith Park virtually eliminated further Axis daylight bombing over the island.

On becoming AOC Malta in 1942 he acquired his own aircraft, OK-2. Park regularly flew this aircraft on visits to beleaguered airfields, most publicly at the opening of Krendi on 10th November 1942 when he performed a memorable beat-up of the airfield.
