In World War II, the assembly ship was the plane other aircraft formed their formations around. So that they could be easily recognized by the other aircraft, assembly ships were painted bright, at times gaudy, colors like the B-24J Liberator re-created in this spectacular model. Captured to perfection in 1:48 scale, this thoroughly detailed model is hand-painted in the highly distinctive paint scheme used by the U.S.A.A.F. 458th Bomber Group.
