Item Number: IXJ200819The Heinkel He 111 was the primary Luftwaffe medium bomber during the early stages of World War II, and is perhaps the most famous symbol of the German side of the Battle of Britain. By the time of that conflict, in 1940, the He 111 was nearing obsolescence. Nonetheless, it was produced until 1944, and used increasingly in the transport and re-supply role.
